Giambattista Bodoni was an Italian typographer, printer and publisher in Parma. He is the creator of Bodoni, a Didone typeface recognizable for its stark vertical axis, flat serifs, and high contract between line strokes. Below is a conceptual logo I did as part of a larger fictional branding concept for Giambattista Bodoni. Because of the typeface’s geometric silhouette, I was able to play with the counter spaces of the initials to create shape that is abstracted and distinctive, but also easy to decipher.
